San Jose safer than Sacramento, despite being twice the size

Feeling visual today. Here’s something to ponder, especially for those wearing rose-tinted contacts. I thought it would be interesting to take a city like San Jose and compare crime rates with safe ol’ Sacramento.

I created the accompanying chart using the FBI’s crime stats for California. It’s important to keep in mind that San Jose’s population is twice the size as Sac. Sacramento has a population around 500,000 and San Jose comes in at around 1,000,000.

Gay Marriage: High Court Ruling Bonanza for Bigots

Homosexuals weren’t the only ones doing Toyota jumps over Thursday’s monumental supreme court ruling giving California gay couples the right to marry. Religious zealots and independent homophobes were also jumping up and down–albeit for a very different reason.

While homosexuals are on the ground celebrating arm in arm, their detractors are on the rooftops UP in arms, screaming, “We’re not gonna take it.. and either is Jesus!!” Yes, as expected, bigots posing as models of piety are leveraging this occasion to channel the messiah and predict his imminent return (oh, and of course hell-fire judgment for all the sin-drunk sickos whom have perverted canonical law).
